Taking extruder assembly off to replace nozzle set, heating cartridge & T sensor is more convenient and comfortable. While, it’s fine to do replacement without taking the assembly off. Choose the one you prefer.
a. Turn machine off, unplug main power cable, and wait till nozzle temperature gets close to indoor temperature. Then remove the rear cover of extruder.
b. Unplug the cable connector (J2/J9) of heating cartridge (front hot end) on interconnection board (Figure 2.2-1). Remove the 2 screws with 2.5mm AllenKey that fixing the front hot end (Figure 2.2-2). Then the front hot end and nozzle set can be removed.
c. Turn over the hot end, loosen the 2 set screws (Figure 2.2-3) with 1.5mm AllenKey, and then the heating cartridge (Figure 2.2-4) in front hot end can be pulled out.
d. Similar way to take rear heating cartridge off. Loosen 2 set screws (Figure 2.2- 5) with 1.5mm Allen-Key. Then, pull rear heating cartridge out of the rear hot end.
e. Nozzle temperature sensor. Loosen the 2 set screws (Figure 2.2-6) a bit in rear hot end, and pull nozzle temperature sensor (Figure 2.2-7) out of rear hot end.
